Overview

Oxon Landscaping and Property Services needed a more modern and maintainable website than its previous WordPress setup, which had become weighed down by an older Divi Builder installation. The goal was to reduce frontend bloat, present a broader range of services more clearly, and keep the editing experience familiar for the client.

Brief

The brief was to rebuild the website on a very tight budget without losing the practicality of WordPress for day-to-day content management. The client needed a cleaner, faster presentation layer, improved form handling, stronger service coverage across the site, and the ability to log in and add services, projects, and blog posts independently.

It was also important to make the site look credible despite limited source material. Where needed, we sourced royalty-free stock imagery to support the presentation, while still advising that high-resolution photography of real completed work is normally the best option for trust and conversion.

Approach

We replaced the bloated feel of the older Divi-based build with a more modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript theme, keeping the frontend leaner and easier to maintain while still allowing the client to work inside WordPress, a platform he was already comfortable using.

We also updated the way webforms were handled so contact journeys were cleaner and more reliable. Alongside that, we expanded the service coverage on the site so the business could promote a wider range of landscaping and property services more effectively.

To support self-management, we set the website up so the client could log in and add new services, project content, and blog posts without needing to come back for every routine update. This kept the publishing workflow practical while avoiding the overhead of the old page-builder approach.

The visual presentation combined supplied project media with carefully selected royalty-free stock images where gaps needed filling. In the main, we recommend good-quality, high-resolution photographs of genuine work because they usually perform better and build more trust. Thankfully, the client also provided YouTube videos, which we embedded on the site to add stronger real-world proof and make the pages more engaging.

Outcome

The finished website delivered a noticeably cleaner and more modern presence while staying within a tight budget. The client received a faster, less bloated site, broader service coverage, improved form handling, and a familiar WordPress login for ongoing self-management.

After the initial draft, we included a free pass of amendments to refine the finished result. The client was extremely pleased with the final website and the value achieved within the available budget.

Notes

This project is a good example of improving an older WordPress website without removing the CMS familiarity the client depends on. By stripping back Divi-related bloat, modernising the frontend theme, and keeping content management simple, the site became easier to use, easier to maintain, and better aligned with the business as it grows.
