Tiktok partners with not-for-profit, Catch 22
Social Network giant Tiktok has partnered with Catch 22, a not-for-profit, social business based in the UK, to launch a programme which will help young people discover jobs in the digital and creative industries.
Taking a “two birds, one stone” approach, the two organisations have come up with a single plan to address both the digital skills gap and the high level of youth unemployment across the UK.
Targeting youths between 16 and 24 who are not currently engaged in any form of education, employment or training, Tiktok and Catch 22 will provision a four week employability course, virtual work experience, mentoring, mental health and housing support, aswell as access to a bursary and a laptop loan scheme.
Tiktok recognise the fact that many people from the younger generations don’t have the skills or the opportunity to be creative and have announced today that they wish to be part of the solution:
“A country where digitally-skilled young people are being more creative is a better country for everyone.”
As per today’s post on their website, the new multimillion pound programme will provide digital jobs and training to over 2,500 marginalised young people from all over the UK
Tiktok state: “..we are delighted to be able to share details of a new partnership with social business Catch22, aimed at helping thousands of young people, currently not in education, employment or training (NEET), find work in the creative and digital industries.“
It is hoped that this campaign will bring “next generation digital skills to museums, music venues and other local hubs around the country.”
Kat Dixon, Director of Partnerships at Catch22, states:
“This partnership between Catch22 and TikTok sparks a new kind of career conversation, helps employers find fresh talent, and empowers young people to build their future.”
