Starlink, operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, is a constellation of mass produced satellites in Low Earth Orbit which provide an internet connection to designated ground transceivers across many parts of the globe.
The Starlink internet service has now added a coverage map to the website here:
As you will see from the map, currently there is at least 90% coverage across the UK, Ireland and western Europe.
If you live in a remote area with little or no broadband coverage, you might now consider opting for Starlink.
How much does Starlink cost?
The prices are a little more than you would expect from a conventional fibre connection, however. Starlink currently costs £439 for the necessary satellite dish with a monthly subscription of £84.
Alternatively, you could stick it out until BT complete their fibre pledge of delivering to 25 million homes by the end of 2026.
The beauty of the Starlink connection, however, is the ability to up sticks and move anywhere in Western Europe, with your dish, and work from home.
